About Carissa Mylin

Carissa is a design-focused principal in SERA’s Portland Studio. Though she is particularly passionate about Workplace, Hospitality and Food+Beverage design experiences, Carissa has worked on a wide variety of project types for notable clients, including Nike, LinkedIn, University of Oregon, Argyle Winery, and Google. Her design ethos is rooted in principles of biophilic design and leads her to find solutions that enrich the human experience and create emotional resonance through the balance of spatial design, material selection, and strong connections to the natural environment. Carissa frequently contributes to discussions about design and sustainability through speaking engagements. She has presented at Worktech, Living Future, Getting to Zero, and was a panelist on NYC Design Week. She also participates in dialogue through the Design Museum Foundation’s podcast. Carissa is driven by opportunities to give back and has been a long-term volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She provides advocacy and leadership within the design community through her service as the IIDA Oregon Chapter Secretary, and President.
