Governmental Affairs tracks and identifies legislative and regulatory issues facing GB and our clients. I also educate legislative and regulatory leaders on industry issues as well as represent GB at Congressional and State office visits as well as at federal and state agencies. Our department works with our clients to identify potential coalition partnerships and advocates with various coalitions on legislative and regulatory issues. I am also co-author of The Way, a weekly briefing on federal and state affairs affecting our industry. I am also in-house counsel for Gallagher Bassett, handling legal matters that arise. Previously I was Director & Counsel of Governmental & Community Affairs, and prior to that, Associate Counsel, Governmental Affairs.Previously I held the position in GB as Associate Compliance Counsel managing our state compliance department, responsibilities included maintaining corporate state licenses, managing carrier reporting for state filings and assisting clients with self-insured state reports. Prior to this, I was a Financial Analyst responsible for analyzing quotes and renewals for profitability and proposing pricing strategies to the CFO. I started my career at GB as a Business Analyst in our Data Compliance department working on electronic state reporting.
