ABOUT CAREY BLACKMON
From the moment I built my first computer at 13, I knew technology wasn\'t just a hobby — it was a calling. By 19, I was developing computers for NASA, and I\'ve spent the 20+ years since channeling that same curiosity and drive into serving organizations, communities, and people at every level. As a Technology Leader, I\'ve had the privilege of working alongside companies, government contractors, and school districts — bringing complex IT challenges down to earth in language anyone can understand and act on. I believe technology should empower people, not intimidate them, and that philosophy shapes everything I do. But my story doesn\'t stop at the server rack. I\'m a husband to an educator, an educator myself, a father, a grandfather, and a foster parent — roles that have given me a front-row seat to what\'s truly at stake when we talk about the next generation. Serving children and families through foster care has deepened my commitment to community in ways no job title ever could. It\'s personal. It\'s purposeful. That same heart for people led me to build something beyond the IT world. I\'m the founder of Show Pro Farm Supply, an e-commerce operation rooted in the art and science of poultry keeping. To support and grow that community, I produce and co-host multiple live shows: The Poultry Nerds Podcast, where we dive deep into everything poultry; Poultry Keepers Live, a broadcast dedicated to educating backyard and competitive poultry keepers alike; and Show Pro Live, where we connect with the show bird and gamefowl community on nutrition, conditioning, and competition prep. From flock management to show-day strategy, I bring the same precision and passion to the farm that I bring to the data center. I live by Helen Keller\'s words:\"A well-educated mind will always have more questions than answers.\" That restlessness — that hunger to keep learning, keep building, keep serving — is what gets me up every morning. Whether I\'m leading an IT initiative, raising birds, mentoring youth, or fostering a child in need, the mission is always the same: leave people better than I found them. Let\'s connect.
