CA
A technology that I\'ve been worked to successfully develop & obtain several patents since over the last few years, it allows coal companies to develop revenue positive opportunities to beneficiate production and pond fly ash fractions. This patented and now robust technology has been developed through nearly $5M in direct investment, creating multiple opportunities to turn this long forgotten liability into a multi component series of revenue generators while simultaneous reducing corporate liabilities, social burdens, offering robust improvement to the GHG profile of any coal-fired power plant. This industry now has the ability to generate a zero or even negative GHG Portland cement supplement, opportunities over rare earth element recoveries and additional fuel sources offering a viable, scalable technology application with excellent returns and global reach in opportunities for enhancing clean coal energy as a technical product platform in precisely the same way that the oil industry created the petrochemical industry as a waste management exercise.

ABOUT CLAUDIO ARATO
I am a passionate advocate for cleantech innovation. An inventor & environmental technology professional, I believe in collaborating, having done so for more than 25 years in the invention, development, commercialization and optimization of numerous low carbon and closed loop, recycle and recovery technologies, from concept to pilot to construction and operation. Maximizing efficiency, to do good and be good while earning well is at the heart of the approach. Additional domestic/international industries: cellulosic ethanol, catalytic sugars to bioglycol conversion, industrial and municipal water treatment, heavy oil upgrading and deasphalting, chlorinated organics (PCBs) destruction and soil remediation, coatings and fuel cell nanotechnology, pulp & paper, water/wastewater treatment process design, fly ash beneficiation, converting waste fly ash to premium ready mix, SCM as well as rare earth metal (REE/TREO) extraction and recovery. Skills: Invention from concept development, process design and scale-up, patent/intellectual property and patent protection, processing/optimization, HAZOPs and fundraising drive my passion for the work. I am honoured to have been acknowledged, in part, with the : 2018 UBC Alumni Award, 2016 UBC100 Medal of Distinction, 2014 Engineers Canada Meritorious Achievement Award for Professional Service, 2013 UBC Alumni Award for Community Service, 2010 APEGBC Lambert award and a 2011 Engineers Canada Fellowship. I am proud of the numerous patents, technical/peer-reviewed journal papers commercialization in N. & L. America & Europe. I speak on ethics, innovation, tech & sustainability and am actively involved with UBC through the CHBE Industrial Advisory Council, and courses as a mentor/speaker/advisor.Specialties: Government funding, R&D management, risk management, team development, technology innovation, a technology connector, technology R&D to commercialisation, field support and optimization, low carbon recovery and reuse, maximized sustainable and green chemistry and closed loop strategies.
