   Economic-development duties encompass various programs at UNM Rainforest Innovations (UNM RI) including: managing UNMRI’s business incubator, the Cecchi VentureLab, which houses UNM and other start-ups as physical and virtual tenants, developing and managing new programs and events that promote entrepreneurship within UNM and the wider community, creating and sustaining new companies and training the next-generation workforce. Some of these programs and events include: NSF I-Corps Site Program (20••••22); the EDA NM Rainforest University Center Program; the Innovate New Mexico network and showcases (promotes technologies developed at the state’s research universities and national labs); the UNM Co-Investment Fund (investment fund for UNM start-ups); Rainforest student pitch competitions; monthly seminars; Faculty Entrepreneurs Network; Network of Student Inventors; and office hours with SCORE, SBDCNM and Rainforest mentors.
