About Cara Lucas
Project manager and water reuse professional. Passionate about the water cycle, nature based solutions, building a resilient future, and community & climate justice. I work with an industry-leading team to design and build onsite water reuse systems and infrastructure projects at district- and campus-scale. As a Sustainability leader, I work to make sure our practices are informed by evolving standards for green building. Before relocating to the San Francisco Bay area, I spent eight years in the wild as a research biologist in rural Alaska, where I worked closely with rural indigenous communities on an onsite water reuse system. My seasons in the field left me with a unique perspective of how humans and nature can be integrated in our urban environment.
