About Paul Germain

As a life-long yachtsman and accomplished sailor, Yachting has always been my passion and desire. Throughout my childhood I learned boating from my father and grandfather on the many boats that my family owned. In 1976 I competed my United States Power Squadron Course to earn a Safe Boating Certificate so that I could take out my dads boat alone at the age of 13. Completing my undergraduate studies at Massachusetts Maritime Academy (Class of 1985) provided both extensive formal training and practical experience on a variety of vessels. While at the Academy as a Captain in the Academy Yacht Club I had responsibility for many vessels at the school. I was also on the sailing team as well. Upon graduation, I passed my U.S. Coast Guard license as a Third Officer Unlimited Radar Observer Unlimited. As well I possess my 100 ton Master of Power and Sail Auxillary with endorsements for Commercial Towing Assistance, Lifeboatman and STCW. My business career started off at United Technologies Pratt and Whitney in their Manufacturing Engineer Training Program and ultimately as a Senior Level Management in business. I posses a diversified background based on the fundamentals and successful track record in management, sales and distribution, as well as manufacturing engineering. My ability to successfully manage operations, manage a P&L, manage and motivate staff, and provide exceptional customer service has allowed me to successfully direct and lead teams to their goals. Further education and training has been a way of life throughout my life. I have taught and participated in many different programs and completed half of my Executive MBA credits at Colorado State University. I am currently a Yacht Broker and Yacht Captain residing in Miami.
