About Vinay Chandra

A seasoned maritime professional with over 16 years of experience in the shipping industry, I am currently a Master Mariner at Geden Shipping Lines, one of the leading tanker operators in the world. I have commanded large crude oil tankers and product tankers, including the first LNG dual fuelled modern VLCC in the fleet, with a multinational crew and a high standard of safety and efficiency. I have also been a Visiting Faculty at Maritime Foundation, sharing my knowledge and insights with aspiring seafarers and maritime students.Throughout my career, I have demonstrated excellence in diverse operations, such as dry docking, shipyard delivery, and various mooring operations, as well as in collaborating with major oil companies and regulatory authorities for vettings, surveys, audits, and inspections. I have been recognized for my achievements with awards such as the Best Gentleman Cadet and the Exemplary Action award for sea rescue operations. I have also attained the prestigious credentials of Fellow of the Company of Master Mariners of India (CMMI) and Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute (NI). My mission is to seek challenging and rewarding roles in the maritime industry within a dynamic and empowering environment.
