ABOUT SURESH JAGADEESAN

The present employment is with Pondicherry Maritime Academy as Principal. My previous employment is with Caravel Logistics Pvt Ltd. This company had one Container vessel, which was earlier managed by a ship Management Company. After I joined, I set up company\'s ISM and ISO Manuals and also developed SSA, SSP, SOPEP, GMP, SEEMP BWMP individually. I have arranged for DOC and SMC audit and took over the vessel Management. I held DPA, CSO and CTO responsibilities. And also looked after fleet personnel responsibilities. I have also looking after company\'s chartering recruitment and monitoring chartered vessel\'s performance and arrange bunkers. Attending all legal proceedings / arbitration of the company. I am well versed with all laws of sea. My previous employment was with Goodearth Maritime Limited and worked for 5 years as Quality cell Manager and held the responsibilities of DPA, CSO and CTO. During my tenure in this company I have fully re modified the company ISM Manuals. And I used to develop SSA and SSP for their entire new take over ships, also drafted GMPl, NPDES Manual and Energy efficient Manual. I used to regularly conduct all fleet vessels\' ISM and ISPS audits every six months and also conduct Company\'s office audit. Also arranged external audits and attended all external audits of vessels and office audits. So I am exposed to learning on auditing and surveying through many DGS and IRS surveyors. I also used to attend and manage 6 Nos of Barges which the group company had. Conduct training for Barge staff and also conduct security training for Barge and (Jakhau) Port security staff. Similarly I have also arranged and conducted many training programmes for sailing staff and office staff. Also used to participate and give suggestions to ship building team and also monitored ship building work at HSL. I have started my career with V Ships in 1992 and sailed until 2007. Soon after quitting sea life I joined AMET University as Professor.
