Priya Kothari is a young professional. She is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India enthusiastically obtaining insights in the field of direct taxes. She is a commerce graduate from the Bangalore University. Priya also holds a bachelor’s degree in Law.She has participated and won accolades in several Moot Court Competitions as “Best Lady Advocate” and “Winners”, including at the National level judged by Hon’ble Justice Krishna S. Dixit, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Hon’ble Justice B.M Shyam Prasad, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Mr. Pramod Kathavi, Sr. Counsel, High Court of Karnataka. She has also presented as a speaker on various tax related topics, including on ‘Exchange of Information and Tax Information Exchange Agreements’ at the ITRAF roundtable; and on ‘Interest and Fee provisions under Income Tax Act’ at the Workshop “Revisit Income Tax Act, 1961” conducted by the Bangalore Branch of SIRC of ICAI. Her teaching stints in the past include guest lecture for MBA Students at Jain (Deemed-to-be-University), Bangalore; faculty at coaching centre CAPS for CA-Final students.She has co-authored with CA. H. Padamchand Khincha and Neha Khincha, an analysis “Concept of Real income - Section 5” in the publication titled “101 Supreme Court Landmark Judgements” published by The Chamber of Tax Consultants in the year 2017. She has also co-authored in two ITRAF - OakBridge publications:(i) “The Taxpayers Rights in International Exchange of Information” in the book titled “Challenges in Domestic and International Taxation Emerging Indian Experience” published in the year 2018; and (ii) “Source and Nexus of Income” in the book titled “Reimagining International Taxation” published in the year 2021.
