ABOUT DAVIDE CANAVESIO

I am an entrepreneur, investor, and professor of corporate finance with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and people. My journey started from simple but solid roots: I grew up knowing that people must be at the center of every project, and that family would always be on my side. That promise gave me the courage to explore the world, study at Harvard and Berkeley, and lead companies across continents — always with the certainty of a safe harbor to return to.I had the privilege to lead SAET Group, transforming it from a local family business into a multinational with plants in India, China, and the US, before its acquisition by a Nasdaq-listed company. Later, I chose to return to Turin to dedicate myself to civic and innovation projects: first at TNE and Environment Park, and today as President of OGR Torino, an international hub for innovation, culture, and arts.As Co-founder, President & CEO of Blooming Group, a food retail company with 600+ people, I strive to show that another retail model is possible — one that puts people at the center, from eliminating the gender pay gap to inclusion projects. As CEO of WeTrust, I invested in startups such as Wetaxi (President), Enerbrain, The Spiritual Machine, Nest, Anubi Digital, and supported the exit of Pharmercure in 2023.Alongside business, I teach Corporate Finance, M&A, and Private Equity at ESCP Business School and the University of Turin.I like to see myself as an ecosystem builder: entrepreneurs should not only create profit, but also communities, opportunities, and connections.Always moving forward, with humility and gratitude for the companions I meet along the way.
