Six years ago, I was analyzing public policy and its economic impact.Today, I’m training machine learning models to understand how people actually behave.My career didn’t follow a straight line—and that’s exactly why it works.I started in economics and political science, studying how policies, incentives, and macro forces shape communities. Over time, I realized I was less interested in what should happen in theory and more focused on what actually happens in real life. That curiosity pulled me into data science and AI.Now, I spend my days working with messy data, training models, testing assumptions, and figuring out how customer behavior, economic signals, and business outcomes connect. Sometimes that means building predictive models. Other times it means slowing down, questioning the data, and explaining what the numbers are really saying.I don’t believe good AI is about flashy models or buzzwords.The best work feels grounded and practical—models that people trust, insights that spark better decisions, and analysis that sounds more like a conversation than a sales pitch.Like a lot of people, I stumbled into my career path.What I chose to do differently was lean into it by learning the technical side of machine learning while holding onto the economic intuition and human context that made me curious in the first place.I currently focus on- Training ML models for customer behavior and revenue prediction- Translating economic and market signals into predictive features- Building AI systems that are interpretable, scalable, and business-ready- Turning complex analyses into insights that teams can actually act onI’m always excited to connect with fellow data enthusiasts and with anyone navigating their own career pivot.
