Feel Good - Look Good As a child I used to dream of owning my own shop. It had large windows and wide cream moldings. I could see myself sweeping in front of the store. Maybe it was destiny. I graduated from Montclair State University with BA in interior design/fashion. After graduation, I went to work for one of my interior design professors and stayed with her until she moved out of the area. At that point I started my own business called “Down to Earth Decorating”. I worked in the industry for about 10 years. Then, in 2004, I opened Piazza Della Sole. It was not originally my goal to open a shoe store. I wanted to start a business in Montclair, the town that I call home, and there was no shoe store. As luck would have it, before I even opened my doors, a shoe store opened In Upper Montclair and then soon after I opened PD Sole, another opened on Church Street. I kept my focus on fashion with comfort and have used that to guide me for the last 16 years. It seems to work. I am so grateful for the wonderful customers that support this business. We try to pay attention to their needs and desires. Feeling good is a big part of what makes us look good. We can’t project a positive vibe if our feet are killing us. There is no reason any more to suffer in silence. Women’s footwear has come a long way since I started. Many more footwear brands are jumping on this concept. I love our new location and I intend to stay planted here as long as my customers continue to shop here.
