ABOUT CAMILLA CARLBERG

My career at Moderna Museet in Stockholm started with me being employed an assistant curator at the photography department. From there, I moved over to contemporary art and became the assistant curator of Moderna Museet Project, a series of contemporary art exhibitions initiated by curator Maria Lind. When she left the museum, I continued to work in the contemporary art field internationally for Moderna Museet, with events like the Venice Biennial, the Istanbul BIennial, the Sao Paulo Biennial and the New Delhi Triennial.During the years 20••••05 I curated exhibitions in the museum in Stockholm with for example Pierre Huyghe, Barbara Kruger, Christian Andersson, Jonas Dahlberg, Sarah Morris, Ann Böttcher, Paulo Climachauska, and more.2007 I became the team leader of learning and public programs, leading a team with curators of learning and art educators. I initiated The Studio in 2008, a space for young artists dedicated to performance, sound art and video in the Moderna Museet. Together with Lena Malm and Jonatan Habib Engqvist, I curated the program of The Studio 20••••11. I became Head of the Learning department in 2011, and member of the museum\'s Board of Directors. I curated freq_out8 together with Micki von Hausswolff in 2012. The next big project became Moderna Bar, which program I initated and curated between 2012 and 2015.Programs within the Learning department initated by me are for example Family Sundays, The Studio, The Night of Philosophy, programs for refugee children and for women in Stockholm without shelter, MuseumMuseum, a series of artistic workshops for 15-20 year-olds, drop-in workshops for children, a Youth Council, Meditations in the museum, and much more.June 1 2023 I stepped down from managament to become the new curator of public programs in Moderna Museet, 2024 will be my first active year in my new role.Since 2024, in my new role, I have initiated a range of public programs for Moderna Museet in Stockholm. Some examples are Drink & Draw, a popular,\"low threshold\" activity that draws a young, new crowd to the museum, originally from TCK Talks in collaboration with Third Culture Kids; a series of interactive talks with a young generation of artist from different diasporas in Sweden, Late Nights in the museum, the Film Club, a series of live concerts -\"Around Moderna Museet\'s Grand Piano\" with contemporary, piano based music, World in my Eyes, a collaborative artist talk series with The Royal Institute of Art and Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design.
