We are a student-run campus organization at UC Irvine founded in July 2022. CCS aims to educate interested students on cosmetic chemistry, connect with industry professionals to gain insight on the field, and learn about common chemical ingredients and their interactions in personal care products. We offer informational general meetings, networking and learning opportunities with professional guest/alumni speakers, hands-on formulation workshops, lab/HQ tours, and information on Society of Cosmetic Chemist events and monthly meetings. We focus on introducing the diverse areas of cosmetic science and preparing for potential future careers in the field, but we also emphasize the creativity, educational, and social aspects of the cosmetic chemistry industry.
