ABOUT CAMERON BACKUS
I am a ACCA Chartered Certified Accountant with varied tax compliance and advisory experience, ranging from sole-traders and owner managed businesses to high-net-worth individuals and families, capital allowances and large corporates and groups, as-well as experience working at a major bank.Alongside tax, I have investment, sustainability and renewable energy experience (electricity/heat generation and storage), having previously worked alongside my dad as a sustainability consultant. Keen to lower my own carbon footprint, I’ve undertaken a variety of sustainability and property focused investments/projects myself and have gained vast retrofitting experience in the process.Examples include buying a Nissan Leaf and swapping the battery to double its range, and I am currently retrofitting and refurbishing several properties, covering low-temperature heating, air source heat pumps, solar PV, MVHR and battery storage. I\'m interested to see the developments within tax and financial reporting as we adapt to climate change, especially with the energy transition underway.
