About Cameron Sanders

Cameron is a well rounded Senior Engineer and a seasoned leader of people and programs passionately working to develop the future. He has provided his expertise in a variety of technical and leadership positions from seabed to deep space serving as a systems engineer at a number of levels, as well as roles as a program manager, chief engineer and technical lead across Maxar Technologies, Quantum Space, Intuitive Machines, SpaceLink, Boeing, and numerous personal consulting roles for NASA, DoDIC, and commercial space, aerospace and deep tech companies. He has led and contributed to the creation and development of complex physical and non-physical systems through various phases of their development lifecycles from ideation and prototyping through programs of record and sustainment.He obtained his B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Howard University and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He has conducted and supported research aimed at advancing preventative engineering means as well as supporting and facilitating community outreach programs focused on introducing students to STEM. He continues to support growing diverse communities through the National Society of Black Engineers and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.His research experience also includes water quality research at Universitas Indonesia, and seismic response for rooftop systems in conjunction with UCSD, as well as many proprietary efforts. He has authored and co-authored numerous technical papers and presented research at numerous technical conferences.He holds a patent for the development of an autonomous marinized SATCOM terminal.In his spare time he likes to attend professional sporting events, spending time with his family (including the four-legged members), and exploring the DC restaurant scene. His passion is helping his community however he can.
