I work for North Herts Council as Communications Officer, where we believe in a brighter future together.I build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the council, including our contractors, to identify and gather positive news stories and promote the work of different service areas.I develop and manage relationships with local and regional media to help secure coverage and enhance the council’s reputation.I contribute to the production of our community magazine Outlook, by assisting with a planning schedule, reaching out to staff for content, editing and drafting content and proofing.I work on proactive media releases, and I control the North Herts Council’s press line, both during normal working hours and frequently on-call to provide a 24/7 service to journalists.
