ABOUT CAMERON MOSS
A graduate from Colorado State University with a Masters in Animal Sciences and a bachelors degree in Biology, Sociology, and Creative Writing along with completed premed/prevet tracks. Has 7+ years of extensive research and lab experience (tissue sampling, DNA/RNA/Protein Isolation techniques, PCR, data analysis via excel, R and Python, et cetera). Writing skills are broad yet advanced, ranging from creative writing to essays, technical, and scientific writing. The Masters thesis was titled \"Gene Expression in the Equine Hindgut,\" and the research focused heavily on the pelvic flexure region of the equine hindgut where colic and impactions are common. The finalized thesis product required extensive knowledge on equine anatomy and physiology, genetics, immunology and the microbiome and may lead to future research prospects that may help detect, treat and/or prevent colic and impactions in horses before they become severe and potentially deadly. With these experiences, some future goals are to go to vet school and/or pursue a PhD and become a research professor.Link to recently published research:
