About Cameron Mead

Started my career in Elko,Nevada at Tricon Metals as a welder fabricator worked my way through the company up to quality control and then inside sales. Wanted a career in mining so i applied for a position In Ely,Nevada for BHP Billington as a truck shop field welder, recieved the position. Spent two years there before mine closure. Worked my way throught the department ending at closure as drill and shovel welder / some mechanical work. After mine closure came back to Elko, Nevada and went to work for Anglo Gold as a process mechanic where I recieved my intership to be a mechanic. Recieved the highest level of mechanic they provided. Before leaving the company to move to Newmont, I was filling in as a leadman and then moved up to Long Range planner for Mill outages. I was hired on at Newmont in the truck shop as a planner /foreman. I was the planner for all the support equipment to begin then transitioned to shovel and drill planner. Then an opertunity came up to move to Mill 6 ROTP as a long range planner so I took the position. Spending six years planning for major outage I then persude a position as Planner General Foreman in Ghana, Africa where I spent eight months. Now I am currently in Nevada as a Mill Maintenace foreman at Newmont for Carbon Handling and Floatation.In February of 2020 I went to Ghana Africa for 3 years as a GF of Planning execution and continued my career with Newmont Gold. After my contract came to an end in Ghana, I moved to Juneau Alaska working for Hecla Mining. As a Fixed asset superintendent, I spent one14 month here at Hecla and now in 2024 I am moving back to the lower 48. I will continue my career in Madagascar Africa working for Ambatovy Mining.
