About Cameron Barrett
Cameron Barrett brings extensive educational, training, and media experience as a partner in R/com Studios, a media production company based in Southern California. Her expertise in visual storytelling began when she worked as a broadcast journalist and News Director in various television markets including upstate New York, Vermont, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. After moving to Southern California in she began making documentaries and training films, winning more than 100 industry awards and film festivals. Her projects have taken her around the world, from chasing solar cars through the Outback of Australia to filming cathedrals in the South of France, to dangling from helicopters with the Los Angeles Fire Department. Cameron has extensive teaching experience, leading broadcast journalism students at both the University of Miami and the University of Georgia, and instructing film students at the Arts Institute of Orange County. She has also worked with nearly a dozen fire departments to create training films and media-rich, online classes that help professional first responders save lives. Cameron is a graduate of Brown University, where she earned a Bachelors of Arts with Honors, and Northwestern University, where she earned a Masters in Broadcast Journalism. She became an Emergency Medical Technician to further her work with first responders, and is in the process of earning an Instructional Design Certificate from Harvard University\'s Extension School. Cameron is an avid golfer and a blue ribbon-winning baker.

We are one of the first privately operated, professional fire prevention organizations in the country.The Safe Community Project launched MySafe:California in October 2015 to bring fire and life safety materials and messages to smaller cities and rural communities throughout the state.
