ABOUT CAMBRIDGE BUI-NGUYEN
As a second-generation Vietnamese American from a family of refugees, I bring both cultural heritage and resilience into my academic and professional journey. I am dedicated to cognitive and data science, with a growing focus on understanding the experiences and development of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My goal is to bridge research and practice by combining data-driven approaches with human-centered perspectives to better support individuals with neurodevelopmental differences.My work as a respite worker for children with special needs has been a central inspiration for this path. Supporting my students in their learning and daily lives motivated me to pursue Cognitive Science in order to deepen my understanding of development, communication, and cognition. I aim to apply this knowledge toward advancing research that both highlights the strengths of individuals with ASD and provides meaningful support for their challenges.I believe in integrating empathy, scientific rigor, and data-driven methods to make a lasting impact.
