ABOUT CAMILA ALVARENGA
As a team player professional with a strong passion for Geotechnical Engineering, I have pursued a master\'s degree in the field at University of Alberta, where I conducted comprehensive research on the shear strength of unsaturated soils and the use of wicking geotextiles in railway embankments. Currently working as a Design EIT at Menard Canada Inc, I actively engage in design and bidding aspects of ground improvement techniques while also providing assistance to the field crew during challenging conditions. My current responsibilities span from contributing to the design processes for Controlled Modulus Columns (CMCs) and Stone Columns, providing alternative solution to deep foundations, to drafting tender proposals for projects involving Stone Columns, Rapid Impact Compaction, Wick Drains, and CMCs among other ground improvement techniques. This role has sharpened my skills in technical design, technical writing, and tender processes, complementing my expertise in geotechnical engineering.
