About Pressley
As a soon-to-be graduate from Campbell University School of Law, I have amassed experiences that have continuously improved both my soft and hard skills as a young professional. I am a recipient of the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship, which recognizes academic achievement and leadership potential. Throughout my time being a student, I have been able to exercise my leadership abilities through different internships, campus involvement, and participation in a rigorous appellate advocacy program. I have gained valuable hands-on experience in working through my internships that span from family law matters to transactional law. While working as a Certified Legal Intern at the Gailor Family Law Litigation Clinic, I had the opportunity to represent multiple clients in matters such as child custody, child support, and assisting clients in the initial stages of separation. I garnered courtroom experience, where I successfully represented my client on a child custody matter. In addition to client advocacy, I have first-hand experience in working transactionally as an intern with real property. Throughout these experiences, I learned how to practically approach complex real estate transactions, including conducting preliminary and final title opinions, drafting, and recording proper deeds, compiling the necessary documents for closing packages, and coordinating with the seller’s lender in requesting and ordering the final payoff following the closing. Along with my courtroom experience, I was able to develop my advocacy skills by participating in a rigorous appellate advocacy program with the Baylor Law School’s Academy of the Advocate, held in Saint Andrews, Scotland, where I argued for the respondent in a complex copyright matter, with the central issue delving into the Transformative doctrine, an annexed legal concept of the Fair Use doctrine. When not gaining experience outside of the classroom, I have been active on campus since the summer of my first year, where I was able to further develop my leadership skills. As an assistant to Dean Hinds-Glick, I offered support in coordinating the Dean’s administrative and academic functions since 2022. Following the end of my second year, I was nominated to be a board member of Campbell’s Lambda Law chapter, acting in the role as secretary. During my time as a board member, I have participated in events that highlights the LGBTQ+ community and conducted an event highlighting intersectionality between affinity groups and culture that is produced as a result.
