As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Operations Specialist, I am responsible for planning and conducting EOD operations, including Explosive Hazard Assessments and supporting Inter-Agency Missions, to facilitate the safe and timely delivery of humanitarian aid in complex and high-risk environments.My role involves providing technical oversight and assurance to ensure that all activities related to explosive hazard management are conducted in accordance with international standards and best practices. This includes conducting Quality Assurance and Quality Control of implementing partners’ operations to verify compliance, safety, and effectiveness in explosive ordnance disposal, survey, and risk mitigation activities.I also contribute to the development, review, and refinement of Technical Working Guidelines, ensuring that operational frameworks remain fit for purpose and aligned with the evolving context on the ground. Through close coordination with humanitarian partners, national authorities, and UN agencies, I help enable access and support the safe movement of personnel and aid to communities most in need.
