ABOUT CALVIN COX

Over the year\'s I have built my skills, knowledge and experience through a variety of roles in my career. I am predominantly a structural steel fabrication background, serving my time as a welder/fabricator working in a variety of industries and a diverse range of projects such as ship repairs, structural steel frame manufacturing and installation, petrochemical site maintenance/repair, offshore operations and construction sites.Once I completed my apprenticeship I quickly moved into the offshore oil & gas industry as a Plater. I gained lifelong skills and knowledge from being an integral part of projects that involved accommodation installations on The Lomond and ETAP. I was also involved with all phases of construction for the Clair Ridge project. I had climbed the ladder into the position of OCS (Offshore Construction Supervisor), where I was responsible for the construction projects aboard an FPSO, these involved shutdown\'s, anode replacements, deluge system repairs/replacements.At this point in my career I decided to take a different path and started my own business where for 5 year\'s I built a company using my own knowledge and skills that grew the company and at its peak had a team of 15 employees working on a variety of projects. I was heavily involved with the business development, project management, project estimation and recruitment during this time.I continued my management career by joining another company as the Operations/Workshop Manager. I was responsible for the day to day running of the facility, interacting with new and existing clients, project management, project planning, project estimation, recruitment and was involved with the procurement of supply chain elements. I was engaged with company directors and advising on business strategy due to my local market knowledge. I am always looking to continue my career, expand my network and learn new things, my skillset is not limited to my main background of structural fabrication, I have experience of managing projects that required multiple disciplines to coordinate.
