About Calvin Tong
Recently joined the AlphaSights Workplace Experience team to assist with office management, event planning, inventory, onboard/offboarding, etc. Even though I am a new joiner, I am constantly looking to improve and further discover interests to develop alongside a company towards success. Returnee from working in Tokyo, I worked as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) for the Japan Exchange Teaching (JET) Program for three years. I also worked at Tulip Cremation from February 2019 to July 2022, a startup which was acquired in September 2019. I served a couple different roles at the company to diversify my skills and to discover new interests in business. These different interested sparked from taking on different responsibilities at Tulip, where each of these fields gave me a sense of accomplishment. Alumni of Saint Mary\'s College of California, a student of the class of 2015. A business administration major. I am a former coxswain for the Saint Mary\'s men\'s crew and Capital Crew in Sacramento. Studying business while being a coxswain made me realize I enjoy making connections with all kinds of different people and feel accomplishment by seeing a team succeed while enjoying the task at hand. I am fluent in Cantonese and English, conversational in Japanese, with basic levels of French, and Mandarin.

Began my journey at AlphaSights shortly after my first full time job in the U.S, working on the Workplace Experience team in SF, closely with the team in NY. Improving the work lives of my co-workers in the office space is the top of my priority, by providing ample office supplies, planning onsite and offsite events, and booking comfortable travels to reduce stress and improve work efficiency.
