ABOUT CALVIN BRADLEY
My ultimate career goal is to not just make an impact, but to maximize the impact I can have. To accomplish this, I believe in doing things efficiently. As a practitioner of logic based empathy, I carefully listen to my customers, both internal and external, to learn not just what they want, but why they want it and what they have already assumed about their imagined solutions. I blend a systemic approach with creative thought to solve problems, so I don’t miss the little details and the true definition of the problem. Wolverine Airsoft has allowed me to take an operation, streamline it with technical and production efficiency projects, and lead it to record-breaking growth. Michelin allowed me to solve some of its most pressing aerodynamic, fuel, and tire issues during my time and I enjoyed the flexibility of running the technical and business development aspects of a start- up inside a large corporation. I’m a coach at heart – it’s my responsibility to guide, prioritize, mentor, and explain different perspectives to maintain alignment to facilitate and balance both individual and team success. I help my teams with the often less glamorous step of problem definition that many people seem to skip as they want to skip to solving the problem. I help ensure that the problem is understood to ensure the solution actually matches the problem. I see business operations as a sports team. The rules and goals are clear and victory is achieved by everyone understanding, communicating, and executing on the game plan. Achievements and victory are shared by everyone, because in strong teams, the team comes first, and even if we didn’t win this time, we’ll learn and be better because of it. Outside of work I enjoy debating philosophy with friends, watching college football (Go Tigers), Formula 1, studying logic, writing bad poetry, and skydiving which I used to teach and coach part-time on the weekends.
