As an Engineering Manager I split my time 50/50 between code contributions across 3 technical teams, and working on various management responsibilities. The management duties I focus on are- career planning for direct reports - interviewing and improvements to the recruiting pipeline - event coordination - continued departmental education - morale & retention As an IC, I oversee 3 Commercial teams and plan my time such that I can contribute as a data engineer where most needed. This includes- code & infrastructure design to support data analysts & web devs - coordination of 5+ team stakeholders for consensus on KPI measurement and forecasting - first adoption implementation & improvement of shared tools like A/B testing, Kafka Streaming to Snowflake, and impact tracking
