Expanded my scope to senior manager, software engineering to deliver on a large scale deconversion of legacy applications and launch a new web team on our enterprise-wide digital servicing platform for Capital One’s private label and co-brand credit card business. Own rewards APIs that support the front-end rewards experience on a large-scale enterprise digital servicing platform, as well as drive partner onboarding setup for new partner credit card launches. Led Python/Lambda serverless modernization effort of Java/ECS APIs. Architected, implemented and managed a Kubernetes proof of concept on a legacy Apache URL redirects application, resulting in proving out the serverless technology for the partnerships technology division. Led the team through provisioning the Kubernetes cluster, setting up the namespace, ingress and service components, and presenting on the findings as a system demo. Resulted in leading the Card Partnerships tech organization in exploring Kubernetes as a platform as a service approach. Application owner of three RESTful APIs, supporting the front-end rewards features on an enterprise sigital servicing platform. Ownership includes Java code, AWS infrastructure and Jenkins CICD pipelines. Resulted in well-managed APIs, with optimization efforts to modernize the backend database from RDS to DynamoDB, to move the infrastructure from ECS to serverless Lambda, and to upgrade the runtime from Java to Python. Instructor with Capital One’s Tech College, teaching AWS solutions architect certification courses. Recognized as a “gosu” in the Tech College hall of fame, created homegrown course material to create engaging, interactive 10-week courses. Created, designed and piloted a 2-day solutions architect crash course to accelerate internal certification goals. Resulted in driving engineer learning and development forward, with increased AWS certifications achieved.
