Caleb Spinner is an accomplished play-by-play broadcaster based in Columbus, Ohio, with seven years of extensive experience. His broadcasting portfolio features a variety of sports events aired on notable networks such as Big Ten Plus, ESPN+, and NBC Sports.Hailing from Mechanicsburg, Ohio, a small town with a population of fewer than Caleb faced limited journalism opportunities in his early years. Undeterred, he pursued his aspiration of becoming a sportscaster with unwavering determination.In 2017, as a high school sophomore, Caleb founded the Mechanicsburg Indians Broadcasting Network (MIBN). By selling ad space to 18 local companies, he generated the funds needed to purchase equipment and broadcast games on YouTube. Operating as a one-man show, he managed every aspect of the network, from social media moderation to scouting remote locations and calling games for a substantial audience. By the time he graduated with honors in 2020, Caleb had called nearly 100 events across football, basketball, bowling, and swimming.The creation of MIBN played a significant role in Caleb\'s acceptance into prestigious universities like Syracuse, Penn State, and Indiana. He ultimately chose to attend Ohio State, where he spent three and a half years studying journalism. During his time in Columbus, Caleb demonstrated his broadcasting skills by covering a range of Ohio State sports, including football, basketball, and hockey, for Scarlet and Gray Sports Radio (SGSR) and Big Ten Plus.Caleb served as president of SGSR from 2021 to 2023. Under his leadership, Ohio State earned spots on the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America\'s list of top broadcast schools in consecutive years, marking the first time the university received this recognition.In addition to his roles at Ohio State, Caleb completed sports broadcast internships with the National Hockey League\'s Columbus Blue Jackets and Minor League Baseball\'s Columbus Clippers.Caleb earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Ohio State University in December 2023, and his Master of Science in Broadcast and Digital Journalism at Syracuse University in May of this year. He recently completed his graduate capstone in Indianapolis, covering the Colts preseason for FOX 59 WXIN-TV. Caleb is back home in Mechanicsburg actively seeking new opportunities in sports reporting and play-by-play broadcasting.
