About Caleb Olson
I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in December of 2013. I am currently the Manager for Special Projects in Line Design, I have previous experience as Macon TMC Supervisor at Georgia Power, and I have design experience in Transmission & Distribution Line Engineering with Southern Company and Commonwealth Associates. I also have experience in construction management as a Project Engineer for McCarthy Building Companies. At Commonwealth Associates, Inc, I built knowledge and experience as a Transmission & Distribution Engineer. I worked on a variety of different project types from overhead Transmission to underground Distribution, and I have experience designing lines with wood, steel, concrete, and lattice tower construction.At McCarthy, I worked on an overhead connector and two parking garages on the UT Southwestern medical campus, and I worked on a $92 million parking garage at Terminal E of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. My responsibilities as a Project Engineer included estimating, scheduling, submittals/RFI\'s, sub contractor management and coordination, and project close-out. At Southern Company, I was responsible for designing new Transmission Lines in addition to analyzing existing lines to current code requirements. I designed Transmission Lines, compiled contract specifications, and supported construction.At Georgia Power, I provided leadership and guidance for the maintenance, operation, reliability, and improvement of transmission and substation assets in the Macon area. At Southern Company, I am managing a group that is responsible for designing accelerated, Special Projects - primarily 500kV and 230kV lines.
