About Caleb Kim

I’m Caleb Kim, an educator and curriculum designer with a B.S. in Psychology from Yale University and over five years of experience in tutoring, mentorship, and educational content development. My work focuses on building confidence and academic growth through empathy-driven, individualized instruction — especially for first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students.Growing up as a bilingual Korean American in the Deep South, I often navigated the challenges of cultural and educational isolation. Those experiences shaped my passion for equity, advocacy, and access in learning spaces. At Yale, I conducted research at the intersection of psycholinguistics and the psychology of prejudice, mentored first-year students through the Asian American Cultural Center, and founded Hangarak, the university’s first Korean music a cappella group.Professionally, I’ve developed college prep curricula, led civic education workshops reaching thousands of students nationwide, and worked closely with families to support students\' academic journeys. Whether I’m tutoring math, writing, or test prep, I bring patience, humor, and encouragement to every session — helping students not just to succeed, but to thrive.Outside of work, I’m a passionate cook, amateur boxer, and music lover who’s (still) working on finishing a novel. I believe education is not just a path to opportunity — it’s a tool for building a more empathetic and inclusive world.
