Background: My career path started in accounting. After an internship at a regional accounting firm and a cash management position at a commodity trading company in 2008, I decided to embark on what would be a short-lived role with a private equity startup - a fascinating experience with many adventures and lessons learned. Having passed the CPA exam in 2009, I then worked nearly two years as a staff accountant with a local CPA. This valuable opportunity taught me much of the “real world” accounting knowledge and skills that I use everyday. I was then assistant controller for a startup book making machine company. Along with my brief experience in private equity, this role gave me first-hand perspective on the unique challenges that startups face. When the company’s VP of finance departed, I became controller until leaving to assume a new controller role for a group of businesses in the outdoor apparel and equipment industry. My newest opportunity is controller at InfoSync Services where I\'m excited to undertake further career development in building an accounting team to provide superior client service for multi-unit restaurant clients. I enjoy sharing insights and adding value to personal and professional contacts. When I’m not collaborating with coworkers or \"crunching numbers,\" I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughters, reading about history and business, playing piano, golfing, and fun with friends.
