   The Director of Sustainable Design and Resiliency works within the Design and Construction Innovation Management Studio (DCIMS) of the School Construction Authority to guide the design of low carbon new and existing schools. NYC has a mandate to design all new schools as low-energy fossil fuel free buildings, and to convert 100 existing schools to be all-electric fossil fuel free buildings by 2030. The Sustainable Design and Resiliency group performs cutting edge research, develops climate action standards for new and existing schools, and direct the Green Schools Guide program. The Green Schools Guide is the document that new public schools and major renovations use to guide the design team on how to incorporate all of NYC\'s local laws that pertain to sustainability, resiliency, and climate action for schools.
