About Caleb Black
Having earned BS and MS degrees in International Business (marketing and operations), and after five years of fulfilling employment in International Education, I decided to transition from academia to industry in 2013. I joined a team at Aramco Services Company to manage customized training solutions for our parent company, Saudi Aramco. My position allows me to follow my passions in international marketing and partnership development while getting to work on the services side of the oil/gas industry. My interest in continuing to learn about the STEM professions, in an international context, are met as I manage customized technical training assignments for Saudi Aramco employees coming to North America. Additionally, my marketing and business development interests are met as I search out new companies to host our professionals for 12-18 month exchange visitor training assignments.I am honored to get to engage, deploy, and support technical professionals for the world’s top exporter of crude oil and natural gas liquids.
Experience
HR Advisor - Technical Training Managment
Apr 2013 — Present · Houston, TX, US
Saudi Aramco highly values talent development by sponsoring select employees to take part in experiential learning assignments around the world. These exchange visitor programs are set up as on-the-job training assignments with vendors and suppliers of products and services across the Oil/Gas industry, as well as, with Engineering, IT, Healthcare, Finance, Aviation, and Civil Services companies and organizations. My primary role at Aramco Americas is to develop new relationships with companies willing to host Saudi Aramco technical professionals. My primary goal is to set up win-win experiences for both the host companies and our trainees. I manage the scouting process for finding new Host Companies, developing training program proposals, program design and objectives, evaluations and assessments, entitlement support, contractual agreements and payments, immigration, as well as mobilization and logistics. By working closely with host companies and Aramco trainees on specific training objectives, I am exposed to the wide array of technical specialties utilized by the Saudi Aramco organization. I am also introduced to the technical product and service offerings of our many distinguished host companies.Companies in the US & Canada that participate in these programs host an experienced technical professional at no cost (we cover salary/benefits etc). Host companies also get the chance to enrich relationships with Saudi Aramco professionals directly, and to enhance cultural awareness of Middle East customs and Saudi business management styles. Aramco professionals advance their technical knowledge, gain a deeper understanding of US culture, and improve their interpersonal skills. I am honored to get to engage, deploy, and support technical professionals for the world’s top exporter of crude oil and natural gas liquids.
