ABOUT CALANDRA ECKERT

I am Calandra Eckert, British and German dual citizen and seasoned product evangelist and ESG Expert working at Munich Re. I started my career developing a proprietary ESG rating system at The Value Group. Since joining Munich Re’s Risks Management Partners I became their expert for climate physical risk reporting and biodiversity and nature topics. I have led the development of a software solution designed to enable companies to identify and report their climate physical risks. I believe that the easier it is to get the box ticking out of the way, the more time and energy is left for the import job of preparing for and preventing climate change and nature degradation. In my role as a product evangelist, I have the privilege of regularly presenting at sustainability conferences. I always look forward to the enriching exchanges with experts in many different roles and sectors about how we can help and learn from each other as we work towards our shared passion of helping reshape our economy to effectively address the challenging reality of climate change. With my divers background, having degrees in both Philosophy and Statistics, I have always enjoyed switching between perspectives to view all sides of analytical problems and thereby identifying solutions others might have missed. Shifting our economy to avert catastrophic climate change and protect nature, without a massive and unequal human cost is the great challenge of our time. How to integrate qualitive ethical considerations into the number driven world of financial decision making, in an effective manner and thereby make a real world impact endlessly fascinating to me and the topic I want to spend my career contributing to.
