About Cal Walters

I’m the Founder of Intentional Leader and the Host of the Intentional Leader podcast—a space where leaders come to be refreshed, renewed, and equipped as they lead themselves, their families, and their teams. I also write a weekly leadership newsletter called The Intentional Letter.In my official capacity, I serve as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army and currently hold the role of Vice Chair of the Leadership Department at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School (TJAGLCS) in Charlottesville, VA. In this role, I help educate and train JAG Corps leaders across all ranks on leadership, mentoring, and professional development.My previous assignments include serving as the Assistant Executive Officer to the Commanding General of TJAGLCS, an Associate Professor in the Criminal Law Department, and the Chief of Criminal Law for the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Earlier in my career, I served as an Infantry Officer with a deployment to Iraq, leading a rifle platoon and serving as a company executive officer. I also served as an aide-de-camp to the Deputy Commanding General (Operations) of the 25th Infantry Division. I’m a graduate of West Point, Campbell Law School, Army Ranger School, and Airborne School.
