About Caitlyn Comunale
I was told from a professor in criminal law class that my strong passion and empathy would never survive in the courtroom. Also, my perfectionism and the drive to always want all details would never sustain in that career. Naturally, it made me upset that I didn\'t have what it took, but really that professor steered me in the correct direction.Switching majors from Criminal Justice at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania to Communications degree with a minor in Public Relations taught me that I can work in any industry as long as I had the passion for it and the ability to sell it. 7 years of working at ERAU on Naval Station Norfolk introduced me to working with active duty military, veterans and spouses. It was rewarding with launching the MSSA skillbridge at Naval Station Norfolk and going from the first cohort of 9 students to having a waitlist, but also receiving my Masters in Management with a 4.0 GPA. Now as a Contract Specialist in American Water Military Services Group, it gave me the ability to experience growth in a variety of industries. Going from higher education to the waste water industry, it gave me the confidence of knowing I can adapt and learn quickly about new industries and markets, which helps to drive messaging and strategy for any organization I have passion for.The past 3 years at American Water has confirmed that when I get into a job, I want to know everything. What can we do? How can we do it? Again, my passion and the constant drive of being efficient. When I feel I have a firm grasp on the job, I scale up my efforts to utilize my background and take an active role in development. Whether that involves training, process improvement, marketing, launching a new system and anything I can do to improve the efficiency and effectiveness within the company. I find that you can always grow and learn new things when you bestow a positive attitude and that willingness to grow and contributing perspective. My high energy, passion, people-skills also is in my day-to-day life outside the office. This is fulfilled with fitness, strong family and friend life, fashion, sports fan (Go Birds) and hobbies such as Golf. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, trips to the beach, reading books and being involved in the community such as serving for food pantries. Feel free to contact me via LinkedIn.
