About Caitlin Wall
I am a passionate educator, advisor, mentor, and advocate. I have found that my purpose is to support students and youth and help them find their authentic place in the world. I accomplish this by developing opportunities, initiatives, and programs that provide them with meaningful and equitable opportunities to reach their full potential. After college, I became a proud member of the Teach for America San Antonio Corps where I was able to teach middle school in the area’s largest and most urban school district. This experience provided me with the opportunity to further develop my leadership skills, as I designed and facilitated lessons and activities for students while also serving as a department head and grade-level chair. I also worked with colleagues and a local non-profit to create an after-school group for girls that focused on empowerment and self-advocacy. During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to work with and support a unique, first of its kind public/private partnership between the City of North Las Vegas and a local Las Vegas non-profit to develop, launch, and run a micro academy for students who were struggling with online learning or had caregivers who were essential employees. I collaborated with community members, local government officials, administrators, teachers, and families to design programs, develop goals, and allocate federal aid for the academy while also producing detailed reports on educational legislation and program success. It was rewarding to see the positive effects the micro academy and programs had on area youth.Community outreach and involvement has always been important to me. I have held several volunteer roles where I have worked with communities and non-profit organizations to provide services, facilitate trainings, distribute aid, and manage projects. As a graduate student at the University of Alabama, I traveled to India and taught students at a local school and orphanage, and I previously oversaw projects and communications for The Pride Tree, a non-profit youth organization based out of Nevada.I am excited to continue my career as a youth and student advocate, mentor, and leader.
