About Caitlin Steiner

I am an Associate Attorney in the Tax Strategy & Benefits Practice at Squire Patton Boggs, where I focus on employee benefits, including retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, and executive compensation. I greatly enjoy working with clients and other attorneys on various benefits-related matters, including drafting and amending benefit plans; resolving ERISA and Internal Revenue Code compliance issues; and conducting employee benefits due diligence in relation to both traditional M&A transactions and ESOP transactions.Prior to and while attending law school, I worked and externed for multiple companies involved in the drafting and administration and review of Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) and other documents used to divide retirement plan assets pursuant to divorce, legal separation and dissolution proceedings. These roles allowed me to gain experience with both qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, and I still have a particular passion for assisting clients with QDRO-related matters.In my spare time, I\'m an active participant in the Cleveland-area automotive enthusiast community. As a member of several local, national, and international car groups, you can almost always find me at a meet with my \'97 Ford Thunderbird or \'06 Ford Mustang!
