ABOUT CAITLIN JEWELL

I watched a TED Talk by Emilie Wapnick that struck a familiar chord with me. It was headlined \"Why Some of Us Don\'t Have One True Calling.\" From grade school and through college, I felt as though everyone around me knew the direction in which they were headed. They knew they wanted to be lawyers, nurses, soldiers - and they seemed to know what steps it would require to get there. This was something I envied. In college I majored in Sociology - an arguably broad yet also incredibly fascinating set of courses. This suited me. Several years out of University and I’ve never once second guessed what I chose to study, nor have I been concerned with the lack of a streamlined career path since then. I have been able to apply what I learned in those 4 years to each position I’ve held since, not to mention my endeavors beyond the workforce. It became clear to me that my strengths: self-discipline, meticulousness, and a knack for foreseeing problems in order to prevent them, would be valued in any position I take on. When Emilie’s Talk presented me with label I could identify with:\"Multipotentialite,” I realized there really is something to be said about to pursuing what keeps you eager to (and able to) continue learning.\"Multipotentialite” may not be a real word, but for me it has real substance.
