ABOUT CAITLIN JENKINS
I lead a team of specialist family lawyers at national law firm Mills & Reeve LLP and we support people who are dealing with the full range of family law issues. Many of my clients are facing the ending of a relationship and I am committed to supporting them and their families through what can be a difficult and emotional time. I work hard to understand a client\'s particular circumstance and concerns as I appreciate everybody\'s situation is different. My approach is client led and client focused - I work with clients to try and find a solution to the issues they face whether that be as a mediator, a financial arbitrator, in collaborative law, in solicitor led negotiation or litigation.I also believe strongly in being straightforward and transparent with clients, whether that is in my advice about a realistic outcome on a particular issue, or in relation to costs. My clients are often in a difficult and emotional situation and they tell me they appreciate not only the support I and my team provide, but also the practical and clear advice we give and our ability to work with others such as financial advisers and therapists/counsellors. My team and I work with a wide range of clients locally, nationally and around the world. We resolve issues relating to arrangements for children and finances, often involving substantial assets and complex issues such as trusts, pensions and family businesses (including farms). We also frequently advise at the start of a relationship on wealth protection such as pre and post marital agreements in order to try and minimise the issues if there were a future separation or divorce. Many of our cases have an international dimension and as a Fellow of the International Academy of Family lawyers, an organisation of lawyers across the world who specialise in family law with an international element, I have the expertise and connections to support clients resolve international issues. In 2019 I realised family and friends turned to social media channels such as Youtube to learn about a new topic or \"how to\" do something and that there were no such vlogs on family law issues in the UK. So I set up the familylawvlogger channel on Youtube. The familylawvlogger vlogs regularly on all things family law from short videos giving information on particular topics, to longer, in depth interviews and panel discussions on relevant issues. You can view (and subscribe!) to the Youtube channel follow the familylawvlogger on twitter:@familylawvlogg1
