About Caitlin Brown

So what did I learn being a two-time All-American and leading visual merchandiser at lululemon? Two big things- Success is made in the minute details- The right people can create the magicHi, I’m Caitlin.I’m an athlete-turned-visual merchandising leader.I spent the past eight years at lululemon as it blossomed into one of the most influential athletic wear companies in the world.Merchandising, design, and inspirational leadership were my areas.I was heavily involved in introducing lululemon’s aspirational wellness lifestyle to malls and luxury locations across North America. The stores were incredibly successful. We were among the top performing global apparel retailers. My role included (but wasn’t limited to): — Overseeing visual merchandising for 100+ store openings a year — Developing and refining opening processes for 10+ store formats — Managing a team of 60 visual merchandising field leaders — Training the company’s on site visual merchandisers across the fleet— Driving guest acquisition and revenue growth And also keeping my cool, staying balanced, and mobilizing a team when standing in a building site as that opening date fast approaches.(I credit my years as a gymnast for that!)Over the years I had the privilege of creating many beautiful, engaging environments, and developed a holistic, customer and employee-centric philosophy.I call it mindful, people-first design.Central to this is an acute sense of a person’s journey through a designed space.Mastering this approach was central to lululemon’s success as one of America’s best brick-and-mortar retailers—Well, what’s next for me?I want to help more brands understand smart, empathetic interior and retail design.Designing environments can be: — Hard — Complex — & StressfulOr it can be: — Fun — Challenging — & RewardingFrom scheduling and processes, to managing budgets and selecting fixtures and styling, I’ve worked on all of it.I’m on here to share what I’ve learned and connect with people I can learn from. When done right, brick-and-mortar retail does something ecom just can’t— Delivers sensory-rich, engaging experiences that leave lasting impressionsThat’s what I love.
