ABOUT CAITLIN BIRDSALL

I am a biologist and educator focused on marine conservation. My past experiences have allowed me to work as a manager, project coordinator, research assistant and naturalist in British Columbia, the Phillipines and Australia. I am interested in the application and role of citizen science projects in better understanding far-ranging, difficult-to-study species and creating practical tools to allow everyone to better protect marine environments. I am passionate about connecting people of all ages to marine environments and inspiring stewardship. Beyond my work experience, I volunteer as a Director of various marine-focused non-profits including Cetus Conservation and Research (20••••12), the Whale Interpretive Centre (20••••14) and the Marine Education and Research Society (20••••22). I am the founder and first chair (20••••23) of the North Coast Ecology Centre Society, which is working to create a permanent education centre in Prince Rupert that highlights the region\'s ecology from peak to reef.
