About Caitie Jacobson Mikulis
It\'s great to virtually meet you! I lead employee listening as part of NetApp\'s people analytics team, using data storytelling and evidence-based research to guide HR leadership in making informed decisions. My expertise in I-O psychology helps me uncover the “why” behind the numbers, driving recommendations that can enhance employee happiness, fulfillment, and productivity. Outside of work, I serve as the Chair in Training for SIOP\'s Institutional Research Committee. I\'ve previously served as IT Survey Group\'s Research Chair and SIOP\'s Membership Analytics Subcommittee Co-Chair. My career has focused on assessing and measuring work outcomes. At Dell, I led their listening analytics and workforce research practice as well as designed surveys, conducted focus groups, and developed customized assessments aligned with their Culture Code. Previously, as an external consultant for APTMetrics and IOS, I advised clients across a range of industries on practices such as job analysis, competency modeling, and assessment validation. During grad school, I evaluated leadership development programs at the Center for Creative Leadership. My work in assessments, evaluation, and psychometrics ultimately fueled my passion for using data to make informed business decisions. Now, I love working with surveys to amplify employee voices and integrating additional research and HR data to create comprehensive and compelling narratives that boost HR strategy execution.I also enjoy giving back to the professional community. I\'ve contributed to over 10 SIOP conference presentations, served as a collaboration session facilitator at TALREOS, and am active in the Chicago People Analytics Meetup. My insights have been featured in SHRM Executive Network\'s HR Leader\'s Guide to Making Data-Driven Decisions, and I co-authored a case study for i4cp\'s 2023 Next Practice Awards. My written contributions also include three articles for SIOP’s TIP, two peer-reviewed academic articles, and LinkedIn blogs.I earned my bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Florida and my master’s in I-O psychology from San Diego State University, where I developed a strong foundation in statistics, multivariate analyses, and psychometrics. At SDSU, I also taught an undergrad research methods lab and conducted research on how individual characteristics, like multitasking preference and personality, influence work outcomes. My master’s thesis focused on predicting job performance using personality profiles.
