As the SHMO and Mitigation Branch Manager, I manage the strategic direction of Hazard Mitigation Branch to include the development of policies and strategies to reduce or eliminate risk.The branch is responsible for developing and maintaining the State of Maryland Hazard Mitigation Plan as well as administering the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs for Maryland. This includes providing support and technical expertise as it pertains to project identification and development, implementation, and grants administration. We provide assistance and coordination to local jurisdictions and state agencies before, during, and after emergencies to provide recommendations for long-term recovery.
