About Cairo Yepez
Hello! I\'m Cairo Yepez, a 2024 graduate of Columbia College. I majored in Cognitive Science, an interdisciplinary study of the mind integrating approaches from neuroscience, computer science, and philosophy. Specializing in social cognition, my senior thesis focused on my lab\'s fMRI study of stereotyping and prejudice in the brain. As a student leader, I founded the CU Cognitive Science Club and enjoyed serving as a club leader in many roles. I played a role in establishing a prominent Latin-American voice on campus through involvement in several Latine clubs. As a cultural leader at Columbia, I served as the Latinx Representative for the Activities Board, Co-Chair of the Chicanx Caucus, Senior Advisor of the Student Organization of Latines, and Academic VP of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science.
