ABOUT CAIQUE GARUTTI MOREIRA
I am an experienced software developer with 11 years of expertise, specializing in backend development for mobile games. Currently working as Engineering Manager at Voodoo.Over the past 6 years, I\'ve led teams of development analysts, focusing on enhancing careers and productivity through close mentoring and developer empowerment. As a tech lead, I cooperate extensively with diverse teams, defining and developing backend platforms that supported them on creating innovative game features to amaze and impress players. As a manager, I actively participate in strategic processes, including budget definition, strategic planning, and performance evaluation sessions. My latest responsibilities include designing and maintaining backend systems supporting a massive player base with up to 300k concurrent users and 50Mi monthly active users. These systems include online multiplayer game servers across different data center regions as well as game platforms supporting core game features such as monetization, analytics, account handling, and distinctive elements like a social network and a platform for hosting user-generated content (UGC).Beyond the gaming industry, I engage in academic research in the field of software engineering. I earned a Master\'s degree from Unicamp, focusing on the interface between software development and business operations (BizDev). Our research has been published at prestigious venues such as the Empirical Software Engineering Journal.Ever since I gained a PS1 as a child I became in love with playing games, and became curious about how they were made. This curiosity led me to start my studies in computer science and software development, eventually becoming a part of the game development world. My personal goal is to impact the creation of amazing games that leave a lasting impression on a generation of players, just like the games that inspired me. While I believe I\'ve achieved with the games I already worked on, I continue to strive for more, aspiring to build even greater experiences and impact new millions of players.
