I am an experienced outdoor education and risk management professional with over a decade of leadership in designing and managing programs that challenge individuals to grow, lead, and thrive in remote and rugged environments. My career has spanned 9 countries, where I’ve managed programs serving over 800 participants per season, emphasizing safety, leadership development, and personal transformation.Currently a Program Manager at NOLS Alaska, I specialize in risk management, team development, and operational logistics. I coach instructors to excel in leadership, decision-making, and navigating the complexities of outdoor education. Whether leading backcountry expeditions, teaching wilderness medicine, or coordinating sea kayaking adventures, I focus on creating transformative and empowering experiences.In addition to my professional role, I volunteer for Search and Rescue in Alaska, applying my skills to serve the community in high-stakes, unpredictable situations.    As a Master LNT Instructor, I provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of minimum impact practices, equipping them to teach others how to responsibly enjoy and protect the outdoors. I focus on developing effective educators who can lead the charge in preserving our wild places through sustainable outdoor practices.Key responsibilities included:Leading advanced LNT training courses, focusing on ethical outdoor practices, environmental stewardship, and sustainable land use.Teaching participants how to educate others about Leave No Trace principles, preparing them to be skilled and confident instructors.Engaging in hands-on teaching, emphasizing the practical application of LNT principles in various outdoor settings.Contributing to the global spread of LNT practices by working with diverse groups of outdoor enthusiasts, educators, and professionals.Notable milestones:Part of the first cohort of Master Educators trained in Baja California, Mexico, in 2018.The first Master LNT Instructor in Brazil, training new educators in 2019.This role has allowed me to contribute to the expansion of Leave No Trace principles internationally, fostering a culture of respect for the environment in outdoor communities worldwide.
